WHY Alexa better than Google? That's a tough question because they're both similar and we find it difficult to pick between the two. Which one you decide to go with may well depend on which you personally prefer and what kind of products you're using than which is technically 'better'.
Having said that, Alexa tends to be better when it comes to support for a wider range of devices, as well as better smart home integration. So if you have a lot of smart home devices already, Alexa might be your best bet.
However, lots of users who have put the two devices head-to-head believe Google Assistant could be the smarter of the two. And, with Google's A.I. learning experience, and wider variety of voices than Alexa, it has the biggest potential for the future.
Features of Google Home
Once you’ve set the device up using your smartphone, Google Home is a great hands-free speaker that learns and helps you in your daily life.

Google Home works seamlessly with some of the leading smart product manufacturers. Nest, Philips Hue, LIFX, TP-Link, WEMO and many others will work with the Google Home ecosystem so you can ask it to do things such as ‘set the thermostat to 21 degrees’ or ‘turn the kitchen lights on’.

Features of Amazon Alexa
Alexa can also control several smart devices using itself as a home automation system. Users are able to extend the Alexa capabilities by installing "skills" (additional functionality developed by third-party vendors, in other settings more commonly called apps) such as weather programs and audio features.
Most devices with Alexa allow users to activate the device using a wake-word (such as Alexa or Amazon); other devices (such as the Amazon mobile app on iOS or Android and Amazon Dash Wand) require the user to push a button to activate Alexa's listening mode, although, some phones also allow a user to say a command, such as "Alexa" or "Alexa wake". Currently, interaction and communication with Alexa are available only in English, German, French,Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, and Hindi.[5] In Canada, Alexa is available in English and French.
The most literal answer to this question is that Google Home is a smart speaker powered by Google Assistant while Alexa is the virtual smart assistant behind Amazon’s Echo smart speaker. Generally speaking, the average person is using the term “Google Home” and “Alexa” to both describe the respective smart speakers themselves.
There are plenty of differences when it comes to the devices, mainly when it comes to capabilities, but essentially they are both Smart Home Hubs that connect to smart devices in your home to make living life a little bit easier.
Alexa’s name is often used interchangeably with the Amazon Echo. There are several “Echo” models to choose from with different features. Google Home also has a number of models to choose from, not all of them actually referred to as “Google Home”.
For a first time user, this can be really confusing! By the end of this article, you should be able to make an informed decision and be a bit of an expert on the topic. My personal preference is Alexa supported products because they are more supportive of third-party integrations.

The Google Home and Amazon Alexa are both great smart home hubs. Google's voice assistant is better at understanding what you mean without giving a really specific command, while Alexa does more.
Aesthetically, both companies put out great looking products, so you can't go wrong. The decision will probably come down to which system is easier for you to integrate with: If you're already a Prime subscriber, the Echo is a great choice. If not, you may want to go with Google. With a few more years of growth, there's a chance it could surpass Amazon as the premier smart speaker manufacturer.
The Alexa is getting smarter and more powerful every week, with incredible features that you won't believe. Amazon has put everything into this surprise hit and have recently expanded its ecosystem . Alexa, the brains behind the machine, that powers your music, smart home, alarms/timers, and so much more.
